Introduction
KPES's Dr. G.M. Patil Law College, later referred to as Institute is pleased to
declare its policy of Code of Conduct and Ethics. The administrators, employees
and students of the lnstitute are expected to undertake their responsibilities with
diligence and professionalism and to comply with the highest standards of
honesty, integrity, and fairness. They are expected to comply with all applicable
laws, rules, and regulations and should not place their personal interests above
the best interests of the College
SCOPE
This Policy shall be binding on all the staff members (both teaching staff and
non-teaching staff) and the students. This Policy lays down the standard
procedures and practices for appropriate Conduct and Ethics for the entire staff
as employees and all the Students who have enrolled in this Institute. The staff
and the students are expected to strictly adhere to and follow this Code of Ethics
and Conduct and the rights, responsibilities including the restrictions flowing
from it. This document lays down guidelines and norms to be followed to ensure
good conduct and ethical practices in the Institute. By implementing this Code,
the Institute ensures discipline amongst the student and staff discipline process
provides a system which promotes their growth through individual and
collective responsibility.
This document is not intended to replace and supplemented by specific Colege
policies that have been adopted in the past and that may be adopted in the future.
This Code may be amended or supplemented from time to time by the various
administrative bodies of the College.
Jurisdiction
The Institute shall have the jurisdiction over the conduct of the stakeholders
associated with the institute and it shall have the Jurisdiction to take cognizance
of all acts of misconduct inside the campus violating the code of conduct and
discipline as laid down in this policy.
If the misconduct takes place outside the campus, the lnstitute shall have the
power to xercise its jurisdiction considering the seriousness of the alleged
offense, the risk of harm involved, whether the stake holders are associated with
the Institute or whether the off campus conduct is part of a series of actions, which
occurred both on, and off campus. Ethics and Conduct.
